        \nHere, j\u0101ta-bh\u0101va-a\u1e45kure<\/strong> refers to a devotee in whom bh\u0101va (pure devotional emotion) has just begun to develop, like a tender sprout.<\/strong> At this stage, devotion is no longer mechanical (vaidhi-bhakti) but driven by deep spiritual emotion and attraction to K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a.
        \nJust as a sprout eventually grows into a fully developed tree, bh\u0101va is the first visible sign of prema (pure love for K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a), which will gradually mature into its full expression.<\/strong><\/li>\n

        The nine symptoms of bh\u0101va-bhakti<\/strong> (the preliminary stage of pure devotional love) are mentioned in Bhakti-ras\u0101m\u1e5bta-sindhu<\/em> (1.3.25) by R\u016bpa Gosv\u0101m\u012b. Here are the nine symptoms<\/strong> in Sanskrit<\/strong> along with their English translations<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

        1. K\u1e63\u0101nti\u1e25<\/strong> (\u0915\u094d\u0937\u093e\u0928\u094d\u0924\u093f\u0903) \u2013 Tolerance<\/strong>, the ability to endure hardships without disturbance.<\/li>\n
        2. Avyartha-k\u0101latvam<\/strong> (\u0905\u0935\u094d\u092f\u0930\u094d\u0925-\u0915\u093e\u0932\u0924\u094d\u0935\u092e\u094d) \u2013 Proper use of time<\/strong>, not wasting time on trivial matters.<\/li>\n
        3. Virakti\u1e25<\/strong> (\u0935\u093f\u0930\u0915\u094d\u0924\u093f\u1e25) \u2013 Detachment<\/strong>, renunciation of material desires.<\/li>\n
        4. M\u0101na-\u015b\u016bnyat\u0101<\/strong> (\u092e\u093e\u0928\u093e-\u0936\u0942\u0928\u094d\u092f\u0924\u093e) \u2013 Absence of pride<\/strong>, humility, and a lack of ego.<\/li>\n
        5. \u0100\u015b\u0101-bandha\u1e25<\/strong> (\u0906\u0936\u093e-\u092c\u0928\u094d\u0927\u0903) \u2013 Firm hope<\/strong>, the unwavering belief that one will attain K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a’s mercy.<\/li>\n
