Next, fold it in half widthwise so that the cut ends match up. This will help you align the fabric pieces when you sew them together.<sup id=\"_ref-43\" class=\"reference\" aria-label=\"Link to Reference 43\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Cut-a-Kurti#_note-43\">[40]<\/a> <\/sup><\/div>\n<div class=\"step\">\n<ul>\n<li>You are actually cutting through all 4 layers of fabric. Cut the front arm and neck holes from your pattern, then pin it to the remaining fabric pieces. Trace around your pattern, adding seam allowances like before, then cut along them.<sup id=\"_ref-44\" class=\"reference\" aria-label=\"Link to Reference 44\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Cut-a-Kurti#_note-44\">[41]<\/a> <\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the same seam allowances as you did for your back pieces. Pin the sleeve pattern on top, making sure that the length is parallel to the grain. Trace the seam allowances, then cut the sleeve pieces out.<sup id=\"_ref-45\" class=\"reference\" aria-label=\"Link to Reference 45\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Cut-a-Kurti#_note-45\">[42]<\/a> <\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can use your own seam allowances, or you can use standardized seam allowances.<\/li>\n<li>For standardized seam allowances: add 1\u00a0in (2.5\u00a0cm) to the bottom and side edges, and <span class=\"frac nowrap\"><sup>1<\/sup>\u2044<sub>2<\/sub><\/span>\u00a0in (1.3\u00a0cm) to the curved edge.<\/li>\n<li>Fold the sleeves in half so that the sides match up, then cut a little notch into the top, curved edge.
