{"id":6512,"date":"2024-05-15T20:02:18","date_gmt":"2024-05-15T18:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shakti.tattva.se\/?p=6512"},"modified":"2024-05-15T20:03:29","modified_gmt":"2024-05-15T18:03:29","slug":"arati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shakti.tattva.se\/index.php\/arati\/","title":{"rendered":"\u0101rati"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Before starting, sit on an \u0101sana and perform <em>\u0101camana<\/em>.<br \/>\nWhile ringing the bell, offer flowers (<em>pu\u1e63p\u0101\u00f1jali<\/em>) at the feet<br \/>\nof each deity with the mantra <em>e\u1e63a pu\u1e63p\u0101\u00f1jali\u1e25<\/em> and the<br \/>\nrespective <em>m\u016bla-mantra<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>then offer each article.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>incense (<em>dh\u016bpa<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>ghee lamp (<em>d\u012bpa<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>conch with water (<em>\u015ba\u1e45kha<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>a cloth (<em>vastra<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>flower(s) (pu\u1e63pa\/pu\u1e63pani)<\/li>\n<li>whisk (c\u0101mara)<\/li>\n<li>(optionally) peacock fan (<em>pa\u1e45kha<\/em>) [the peacock fan is offered only<br \/>\nto V\u1e5bnd\u0101vana-k\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, who wears a peacock feather.]<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Before each article is offered, purify the right hand<br \/>\n[with a drop of water from the <em>pa\u00f1ca-p\u0101tra<\/em>], and then<br \/>\npurify the article. chant the <em>m\u016bla-mantra<\/em> for the deity<br \/>\nand then offer the article.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, one can purify all of the articles and then<br \/>\ntouch each of the articles one by one and say the <em>m\u016bla-<\/em><br \/>\n<em>mantra<\/em> of the prominent deity, before the <strong>\u0101rati<\/strong> starts.<br \/>\nThen, while performing the <em>\u0101rati<\/em>, there is no need to<br \/>\nsay any <em>mantras<\/em>. One should still purify the hand after<br \/>\noffering each article.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, light the incense and the ghee lamp and<br \/>\nthen begin to offer the articles according to the sequence<br \/>\nmentioned in the previous list.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the five-wick ghee lamp is offered four times to the<br \/>\nlotus feet, twice to the navel, three times to the face, and<br \/>\nseven times around the full form of the deity.<\/li>\n<li>Water in the conch shell is rotated in a circular motion<br \/>\nthree times to above the head of the deity.
