Nisantha lila 71 The Means to overcome worldly attachment

Vers 71

The means to overcome worldly attachment

Thus, as the sakhis and manjaris completely submerge within the prema sukha sagara (the joyful ocean of prema) of Sri Sri Rādhā Govinda’s vilasa madhuri (sweet loving-play) the urgency of returning home is forgotten!

Here is the means to overcome worldly attachment. By contemplating Rādhā Krishna’s lilas in the footsteps of these fortunate gopis, one’s family, home, friends and worldly identity are all forgotten. In its place, a growing attachment for Sri Sri Rādhā Raman’s nikunja seva awakens.

Caitanya-caritāmrita advises:

sei gopī-bhāvāmṛte yāṅra lobha haya
veda-dharma-loka tyaji’ se kṛṣṇe bhajaya
rāgānuga-mārge tāṅre bhaje yei jana
sei-jana pāya vraje vrajendra-nandana
vraja-lokera kona bhāva lañā yei bhaje
bhāva-yogya deha pāñā kṛṣṇa pāya vraje
(CC 2.8.220-222)

Those who are greedy yāńra lobha haya
for that nectar of the ecstasy of the gopis –sei gopī-bhāvāmṛte
discard the prescribed duties described in the vedas – tyaji veda-dharma
and the opinion of worldy people — loka
to serve Krishna (as the gopis) -se kṛṣṇe bhajaya

That person who worships that (Krishna) – yei jana bhaje tāṅre
on the sadhana path of following the atachment – rāgānuga-mārge ,
of these persons in Vraja – sei-jana vraje
attains the son of the King of Vraja – pāya vrajendra-nandana

anyone who accepts the same mood – lañā yei kona bhāva
form Goloka Vṛndāvana –vraja-lokera
and serves (accordingly in the antascintita deha conceived body) –yei bhaje
gets a body suitable for that loving relationbhāva-yogya deha
and gets also Krishna in Vraja – kṛṣṇa pāya vraje .
